This is a funky craftsman-style chair design I came up with to go around the fire-pit.
I came up with this design just to have something different around the fire-pit. You'd be surprised how hard it is to get angles right on a chair to make them human sit-able. They match the deck and its lighting in both style and stain.
The design uses 2x6, 4x4 and 2x2 pressure treated lumber. I pre-stained all the boards because reaching all of the surfaces after construction would have been difficult. Everything is attached with 2" deck screws and the 2x2 got pre-drilled for screws to prevent them from cracking. Each chair cost about $50 in material, screws and stain. The design is described in a drawing below.
