This painting of Cologne Cathedral was done by K. E. Unkel for my father while he was working in Germany in 1954.
By Roger Arrick
When my father was in the Army in 1954 he was stationed in Germany and his office faced the Rhine river. There was a painter there named K. E. Unkel who did this painting for him showing the Cologne Cathedral across the river. This picture has been in our family ever since.
I have done some preliminary research on K. E. Unkel but haven't found him yet. One lead has him going to California with his family. I have seen other paintings by him for sale on the internet.
